Welcome to Hucklow Primary School
As the Executive Headteacher, I am pleased to welcome you to Hucklow Primary School. I hope you enjoy visiting the website and find the information useful. The website should help you, whether you are looking for term dates, to see what is happening in school or if you just want to get an insight into life at Hucklow Primary School.
Hucklow and Beck Primary Schools are joined as Multi Academy Trust called Cascade Academy. The schools have one board of Trustees but their own individual Governing Body and an Executive Headteacher. I also work across Whiteways and Owler Brook Primaries. This is an exciting time as all four local schools begin to work together. I will spend time in each school every week so if you ever need to see me I will be available. We are planning for the schools to do lots of fun and exciting things together over the year.
Our aim is to provide a high quality education for all with a broad and balanced curriculum. We want children to be excited about their learning and to enjoy coming to school. Our curriculum is thematic, with themes that change every term. All subjects link wherever possible to a theme making the learning journey seamless. Learning is brought to life by the experience of a visit or a special visitor coming into school. We firmly believe that learning is a journey and we aim to create memorable experiences that accelerate children’s understanding and achievements.
Should you wish to discuss anything further please do not hesitate to contact the school.
Important Information – COVID – 19
School Update COVID-19
School is following government guidelines and is now closed until further notice. If you need assistance from a member of the Hucklow team please use the year group emails to contact a member of staff. We are checking these emails every day and will always try to answer any questions you may have.
“The latest guidance from the Government states that if anyone in you household is presenting with COVID-19 symptons them whole household must self-isolate for 14 days.”
EMERGENCY SAFEGUARDING PROCEDURES DURING FULL SCHOOL CLOSURE
Dear Parents and Carers,
As the growth of the Corona Virus accelerates we have been taking steps to reduce the risk to our pupils, and we have been making plans to support our families in the event of any future school closures. The children have been brilliant and we have seen a record level of liquid soap and hand sanitiser being used. Staff are promoting regular handwashing in each class. Work Packs and Home Learning during COVID – 19 Closure
Please ensure that you email your teacher and let them know that you have completed your learning and whether you need more or need support with an activity. Email addresses are found underneath each year group.
These packs and activities are for you to complete during the school closures. If you have any issues or need extra work or support please email your year group email – a member of staff from that year group will respond as soon as possible.
